What Owners Say About Us

When it comes to Pudel Haus Standards, we are naturally biased – we think our pups are the best! But don’t take our word for it. Read what owners of Pudel Haus Standard Poodles say about us!

I have been owned by standard poodles for over 30 years and have both purchased and rescued them. My heart has always been in rescue and my purchased poodles have always been my stable pack to help me rehabilitate the rescues. I have never had less than 2 standards and at times have had up to 6. In 2015 I was averaging around 6 including my 3 purchased poodles. Then in July things started to fall apart. My oldest standard girl Molly age 9 started feeling unwell and in October finally succumbed to lymphoma. The middle of November Maggie a foster became suddenly ill and suddenly succumbed to a different kind of cancer. During the time of Molly’s illness and death Clancy my 7 year old started refusing a lot of meals and was losing interest in playing ball, his obsession. At first I thought it was because of Molly’s passing as they were very close, but then I realized he was losing weight rapidly. A trip to the vet revealed he had yet another kind of cancer that was in his lungs and rapidly spreading. We had to let him go on November 18th . In a matter of 2 months I had lost 3 of my precious babies! I was devastated and so were my remaining 3 standards. The house felt like a tomb. There was no joy, but I couldn’t bring myself to even think about adding a new pack member so soon.

I was on Facebook and seeing some of my breeder friends making their litter announcements. It peaked my interest a little but it had been almost 8 years since I’d had a very young puppy so I just looked. Enter Kathy Moore of Pudel Haus. I didn’t know her but knew of her through some good Facebook friends. I was thoroughly enjoying the photos and videos of her recent litter, and really liked all the time she was spending with the puppies and how she really seemed to know their distinct personalities at their tender age. The puppies were active and fearless and made me laugh! Several friends had visited Kathy and the pups and told me how great they were, but I couldn’t bring myself to contact her. Out of the blue Kathy contacted me and asked me if I needed to have my heart mended? If so she had just the pup for me. I was pleasantly surprised but somewhat cautious because you see I was somewhat of a snob. Each of my purchased poodles had thoroughly researched pedigrees. I had researched the breeder thoroughly and I had always chosen the pup I wanted based on my research and recommendation of knowledgeable people in the poodle world. I knew nothing about Kathy but after a few conversations realized she knew what she was doing and I trusted her enough to choose a pup for me. After I explained that I needed a good stable secure poodle to help me rehabilitate my rescue fosters and I preferred males she tells me she has “a little heathen” female from 11/01/15 litter that would be perfect. What? Had she listened to anything I had said? Something told me to trust this woman and Annie joined our family shortly after New Years in January 2016.

What a confident, sweet, stubborn little bundle of joy! She walked in the house like she owned it and was totally unafraid of my two huge 85 and 100 pounds males. She immediately knew my 65 pound 3 year old female was going to be her best buddy and initiated play with her. What told me everything about her was my 10 year old 100 pounder Murphy who we call the General. It usually takes him at least two weeks to stop snarling at a new arrival and then several months to decide if they are worth his attention. Annie had him figured out in no time and she got maybe 2 snarls in the first few days and was stealing his coveted ball within the first month. He was even interacting with her and liking it! This was a first! I can’t say enough good things about this little girl! She’s vocal, smart and quite a challenge and exactly what I needed! Kathy knew!

Would I recommend Kathy as a breeder? You bet!

I have been blessed with two of the Pudel Haus girls: Maybelle Rose 1.5 years and June Carter 1 year (almost). I  had a generation of standards before “the girls” . The tender loving care, early socialization and constant interaction was apparent within hours of having them home. The girls are incredibly intelligent , loving, curious, inventive and instantaneously a part of my heart and soul. Great with children, polite with other dogs and complete ladies around the food bowl. Smart Smart Smart and their looks still take my breath away. My family is blessed beyond measure. If you are ever lucky enough to have a Pudel Haus companion there will not be a second of regret or a day that goes by you do not feel extremely grateful for the life that has meshed with yours… thanks a thousand times Kathy!!!

Abe is a very healthy, well behaved puppy. It amazes me that he has never been sick to his stomach. Not even once. He is so intelligent and eager to learn. His temperament is awesome. He has never even so much as shown his teeth at another dog, or anybody.

One of the best things from birth until his arrival here was that Kathy shared video updates almost daily. She was and still is there for any advice and helpful tips that I may need. I have no complaints at all. Abe is a 100% pure bred puppy and at 10 months has no health issues.

He and all of his siblings are so so beautiful ! Very happy with my big happy boy!

So, I guess my story is a little unique. I was a full-time student in my sophomore year of college, with an increasing need for a service dog. Because of my allergies, I was limited to poodles. I knew that if I found the right one, my quality of life would improve significantly.

One day, my mother surprised me by visiting me at the dorm. She pulled out her phone and began to show me pictures of a gorgeous black standard poodle. I hadn’t met him yet, but at that moment, I knew it was meant to be. We spoke with Kathy, and she was remarkably easy to work with. Kathy spoke over the phone with the trainer we enlisted, and the trainer said that Sam sounded like he had the perfect temperament for a service dog. We scheduled a trip to North Carolina, which is an almost nine hour drive roundtrip. We went to meet Kathy and her pack, and I swear that I have never seen such beautiful dogs. That alone made the long drive worth it. Then I met Sam, and we clicked immediately. He was incredibly intelligent, and sat back and watched everyone for a bit before approaching. He calmly sat down and allowed me to greet him. He was gentle, and stayed by my side for most of the visit. When he wasn’t next to me, he was sitting a small ways away and watching. The other dogs were just as beautiful and just as intelligent, but I can honestly say I only had eyes for my Sam.

Today, Sam and I go everywhere together. When he is on duty, he is a completely different dog. He is vigilant and polite, and stays by my side constantly. When he is off duty, he is energetic and playful, yet still gentle. He loves soccer and tennis balls, but not as much as he loves a random stick on the ground. When on duty, he doesn’t seek attention from others. When off duty, he is friendly and allows people to interact with him.

I’m also still in contact with Kathy, and we talk every few days. Since I am a first time fur-baby mother, she has given me much needed advice from day one. She’s taught me about everything from grooming to puppy tummy aches. She gives excellent training information, and keeps me updated on Sam’s father’s success in the AKC world, since Sam has a similar temperament to Frank. It is easy to see where Sam got his regal attitude from. Kathy has been supportive and kind, and I can tell she truly loves what she does. She has quickly become one of my favorite people, and I am grateful to her for everything she has done.

The story of our journey to Kathy is likely different than most.

We had been searching for a Standard Poodle for nearly a year. It was our goal to find a dog with a suitable temperament to be trained as a service dog for our college-aged daughter, Deanna. We had been in contact with a dog trainer who was willing to work with Deanna to train a dog, but with summer break approaching we still had been unable to find a suitable dog —despite nation-wide inquiries.
On the day I received contact information for Kathy and the Pudel Haus, I texted explaining our needs. Her response was immediate!!! Over the next several days, we communicated often and at length. She patiently listened to our situation and even offered to confer with our trainer.
Long before we made the trip to North Carolina, I already counted Kathy as a friend.I think one of the things that impressed me most was that Kathy made it very clear that the pup she had in mind had to show an affinity to Deanna. We understood from the beginning that if that connection wasn’t there, we would not be the pup’s family. It was obvious to us that Pudel Haus puppies are not dollar signs; rather they are part of a family.
Fortunately, Sam DID choose Deanna!!
When we arrived home, we introduced Sam to our two tiny toy poodles. It was amazing to watch the gentle giant lay on his tummy (so he was at eye level with our little guys) and gently nudge toys toward them, easing himself closer and closer, but moving slowly so that he didn’t frighten them.
Sam came to us with manners and etiquette fully developed. He can be playful and boisterous but he had never been destructive.
He and Deanna are so truly a part of one another that I can no longer imagine Deanna without him, nor him without her.
The two of them trained thru out the summer and moved into the dorm in August. Sam attends classes and accompanies Deanna to the Library, the cafeteria, social events, the movies, to weddings and to WHEREVER life takes her.
He in not even a year old!!!
Sam is Deanna’s safety net and takes his role seriously. But when he is off duty, he is cuddles, romp-and-bow playful and four-legged love personified.I don’t believe he has an aggressive bone in his body, but neither do I worry about Deanna walking across campus to night classes anymore.

Sam’s family (both four legged and two legged) raised an extremely beautiful, intelligent, well-mannered, well-socialized, intuitive pup. And, Deanna reaps the benefits! Kathy continues to support us in innumerable ways. She has been able to to guide Deanna thru many of the pitfalls of being a first time furbaby mom.

We didn’t buy a puppy when we got Sam. We became members of the Pudel Haus family.

Kathy Moore has been our guide with Standard Poodles. I spoke with many breeders but found that their interest was in profit more than the success of the new owner. Once you meet Kathy you become family. She is what you are looking for in a breeder.

She first assisted us with a re-home. She spent a huge amount of time and effort to make this happen. She continued the relationship via phone and Facebook. When we faced a tragedy with Tucker being hit and killed by a car she was right there to console us with our loss. Particularly my wife. Great compassion.

She invited us to her home and allowed us to meet her fur family. She allowed us to take 2 home. Jasper and Harley are awesome and are now a year old. They both are unique in their temperament. They are calmer than typical Standards. They go to our office daily and interact with our clients politely. This is not because of training, but temperament. They are not door dashers and they listen well. When visiting pet stores and public outings they don’t get overly stimulated and they keep a calm demeanor.

If you have the chance to join the Pudel Haus family don’t hesitate. If you would like to talk with me please call me, Randy Bennet, at 256-746-9581. I am a proud member of the Pudel House family.

We can’t believe how perfect Baby Bear is for our family! Not such a baby anymore (he’s 11 months as I write this), it was love at first sight! Kathy’s excellent reputation as a breeder and her transparency in sharing puppy videos (nearly daily) of this new litter with the soon-to-be human parents was amazing! It made it so easy to see what sweet, smart, gorgeous poodles they are and you could really get a feeling for how each would fit into their new home! As an extra bonus, the humans became facebook friends. We continue, with delight, to share the exploits of this litter as they settle in to their new homes.

Bear, with his huge personality, has been so easy to train and is so loving! Kathy really cares about her pups (understatement). She stays involved with the owners and I know I speak for many when I say that we went from from being Kathy’s “client” to being her friend. She is truly committed to ensuring that her beautiful, sweet, talented pups go to homes that will love and care for them as she would. She is always available to answer questions and help in whatever way she can.

Bear is our first puppy from the Pudel Haus, but he will not be our last!
